Leading with curiosity to create people focused experiences.
Design is truly another language embedded in our environment. I find that the beauty of everyday things inspires me. I truly believe each time we create a safe space for a story to be shared, we unlock an opportunity to create an experience.
I started as a graphic design intern at Coastal Carolina University, where I learned to think through visuals and communicate ideas with intention within the marketing department, shaped by real constraints, real audiences, and real impact.
Over time, my focus shifted toward understanding why design works, not just how it looks. Leading visual direction for The Technician taught me how systems, collaboration, and feedback strengthen design at scale, while deepening my interest in research-driven decision-making.
Now, as a graduate student at NC State, I work at the intersection of UX research, emerging technology, and AI, focusing on how people understand, trust, and interact with complex systems. Through my roles as a research and teaching assistant, I study and design experiences for tools like explainable AI, translating technical complexity into clear, transparent, and human-centered interactions while supporting others as they build confidence in their design practice.
I know this is only the beginning to my journey, and I am eager to grow through every challenge and create experiences for a diverse range of people that is both purposeful and impactful.
“It is easy to design devices that work well when everything goes as planned. The hard and necessary part of design is to make things work well even when things do not go as planned.”
― Donald A. Norman, The Design of Everyday Things
